L.A. Guns Live in Houston
Show Review ★ Annsley Jennings ★ @annsleymedia★ 2 Minutes
I recently decided to go back in time and see some of my favorite 80s bands. Okay, not actually but I did see two of them on Saturday, June 27th. Let me give you a rundown on my experience seeing Cinderella and L.A. Guns.
Picture this: Warehouse Live Midtown in Houston. It’s a Saturday night and the venue is packed with die hard fans. Iconic radio host Eddie Trunk gets on stage and gets everyone pumped ahead of the show. The show opens with a local, kickass band called Thrower. Their set unveils with their song Reach off of their 2024 album called Blink. Lead singer Isaac Thrower’s powerful vocals rip through the crowd along with the electric guitar playing by Cole Stratulate and August Galliano, accompanied by some bad ass rhythm from bass player Paul Duty and drummer Rocky Conant. They make their way through a few covers such as Don’t Fear the Reaper and Never Tear Us Apart as well as some originals - my favorites being Eye for an Eye and All I Know.
Next, Eddie Trunk returns to the stage. Despite the crowd’s active growth in excitement, he breaks the unfortunate news that Tom Kiefer is not feeling well and therefore, Cinderella will not be performing. Understanding albeit disappointed, the crowd looks forward to L.A. Guns’ impending, extended set.
Love Street Magazine wishes Tom a speedy recovery and safe travels.L.A. Guns takes the stage and I myself am extremely excited. I mean, I grew up on L.A. Guns - hell yeah, I’m gonna be screaming and singing along. They rip that stage apart, full of electricity. They’re so badass and they sound absolutely amazing. They dish out their hits: Electric Gypsy, Ballad of Jayne, and Over the Edge. It’s banger after banger. I absolutely loved every second of it and it was such a privilege to not only take photos but to witness it, too.
It was such a great show: undoubtedly a favorite. I am so sad that I wasn’t able to see or capture Cinderella but Tom’s health comes first 100%. I am glad that I at least got to see the other bands that I love.
If you’re not listening to Cinderella, L.A. Guns, or Thrower, then what the fuck are you doing?!
