greek: Live in Philly

Show Review ★ Jenna Kaufman ★ @jennakaufmanphoto ★ 1 Minute

There is a distinct magic to catching an artist right on the precipice of a breakout, and last night at The Foundry in Philadelphia, that energy was tangible. greek’s talent and energy spilled out and filled up the small room, touching all of his fans who were singing along to every single word.

Opening the evening was artist Paco, who hyped up the crowd with his dancing, energy, and bilingual songs. As he performed, murmurs of “this is so good” spread throughout the floor.

The excitement before the headliner was palpable; countless fans lined the stage wearing greek merch from previous shows and his current tour. As the pre-show soundtrack silenced, the crowd screamed with excitement, and greek kept up the energy throughout his whole show.

Playing songs like his infectious new single “NKL” and the high-energy cut "RIPCORD", he displayed his dizzying range of genres, blending from getting the whole crowd to jump along with the beat as he danced and jumped around the stage, to playing a soulful and jazzy rendition of his slower songs, including “safety”, his expertise bleeding from his fingers out onto the keys.

His genuine appreciation for his fans was equally palpable. Before ending the show, he introduced his band and took an intimate moment to share his gratitude with the crowd for coming along his journey with him, before staying after the show to meet and speak to the fans.

Listen to greek’s newly released EP "DANCE BREAK" on all streaming platforms today.
