Big Time Rush Makes the City Theirs in The Woodlands, Texas

Big Time Rush’s In Real Life World Tour made its way to The Woodlands, Texas on August 17th for an electrifying show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

Big Time Rush is made up of four members— Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos PenaVega, and Logan Henderson. BTR rose to fame in late 2009, when their TV show of the same name aired on Nickelodeon, simultaneously launching both the band and their TV show into the spotlight.  Now nearly 16 years later, with multiple worldwide tours under their belt, Big Time Rush’s In Real Life tour aims to hone in on nostalgia, claiming fans will hear “every song from every episode” from their show, making this tour both sentimental and intriguing for new and longtime fans alike.

As showtime grew nearer, devoted fans gathered at the iconic amphitheater, many dressed in various comedic nods to the band’s hilarious and memorable bits from their TV show, such as hats disguised as plants, and James’ purple superhero outfit. Excitement filled the air as fans filled the seats, anxiously awaiting the moment BTR took the stage.

To make this tour even more special for veteran fans, artists (and notable actors from the Big Time Rush TV show) Stephen Kramer Glickman (Gustavo Rocque) and Katelyn Tarver (Jo Taylor) opened up the show with upbeat performances. It’s no surprise why the tour is called “Big Time Rush: In Real Life”, as fans are physically able to watch every aspect of the TV show come to life right in front of them, all in one night.

As the venue lights dimmed, fans were ecstatic to see the iconic Big Time Rush intro play onscreen, followed by the members themselves appearing on stage in an instant, absolutely electrifying the atmosphere.

The night was as promised and more. Dance breaks, confetti cannons, hilarious VCR’s in between outfit changes, but most notable was the fan engagement the band provided all night long. From moving to a separate stage to the furthest section of the venue so all the fans felt included and special, to hand-picking 4 lucky fans from the crowd to bring on stage and perform “Worldwide” with, the pure gratitude radiating from the band could not have been more evident.

To close out the night, “Til I Forget About You”, one of BTR’s most notable and upbeat songs, echoed throughout the venue as the members ran, slid, and jumped across the stage, their energy never dulling for a minute.

If Big Time Rush is coming to a city near you, I recommend joining in on the fun and experiencing a night like no other.

Big Time Rush is set to embark on their Europe leg of the tour this fall with various dates in Germany, France, and Spain, among many others. You can also catch the band in Mexico, South America, Australia, Dubai, and Hawaii in early 2026.
